Available Positions

Lead Architectural Designer

The Lead Architectural Designer is responsible for design documentation, coordination, and management of design workflow from conception to completion. Typical time distribution is expected to be 80% design/drafting and 20% workflow management. Responsibilities include:

  • Turn conceptual design drawings of new homes into fully detailed construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, floor joist plans, electrical plans, etc.
  • Manage design production within department
  • Maintain master plan working drawings
  • Coordinate truss and superior wall quotes for new homes with Garman Trade Partners
  • Coordinate new home permitting process
  • Review working drawings for completeness and accuracy

Successful candidate will contribute to the growth of the company by producing accurate and clear drawings efficiently and independently. Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience producing construction drawings for single family and multifamily residential projects, experience with production builder a plus
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting or equivalent work experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong working knowledge of structural design, with ability to size structural members a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCad
  • Strong attention to detail while multitasking
  • Commitment to preemptively catch mistakes through proofing own work
  • Experience reading and interpreting IRC requirements

New Home Sales Host/Hostess

The New Home Sales Host/Hostess is responsible to present Sales Centers/Available Homes to visitors in a professional and personalized manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Open & close models, ensuring that homes are looking their best during open house hours
  • Greet visitors, discern their objective, and provide appropriate information
  • Obtain lead generation information from each prospect

This is a part time, weekend position requiring approximately 9 hours a week.  The successful candidate will be assertive, with a friendly personality and excellent communication skills.

Carpenter

Garman Builders, a growing residential construction company serving Central Pennsylvania, is looking for a Carpenter. The Carpenter is responsible for a wide range of carpentry/construction tasks including trimming, framing, hardwood, etc. This position requires at least 2 years of varied jobsite experience in new home construction or renovations and a valid driver’s license. It provides an excellent opportunity for a hardworking and motivated individual to potentially advance within the company.

Salesperson / Project Manager

This position assumes the responsibility of meeting with prospective customers, reviewing wants and needs with them and working closely with the design & estimating teams to create a product that meets the customer’s needs and hits a targeted budget.  It includes selling the job and creating contracts and all other necessary sale documents.

This position also assumes responsibility for ensuring quality of production while remaining on or ahead of schedule, negotiating and approving contracts for subcontractors and suppliers at or under budget, being the “point person” for customers during the construction process, and attending to the details of paperwork and job folders to ensure an accurate and timely completion.

To take each project from concept to completion in a timely manner, within budget and company policies and guidelines
