Available Positions

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant oversees and tracks receivables and revenues while accurately maintaining the data used for decision making and reporting.  Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain General Ledger and related schedules (including intercompany transactions), and prepare financial statements monthly.
  • Manage online banking, entering cancelled checks/deposits and verifying them in manual bank register and in accounting system’s cash module.
  • Complete settlement accounting procedures per Standard Operating Procedures for all entities.
  • Enter all journal entries into the accounting software and maintain support for monthly entries. Ensure that reversing entries occur.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong technical accounting background. Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience (experience in the construction industry and/or Sage 300 software a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong attention to detail while multitasking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant provides high level administrative support to the Garman Team, taking care of the details so that Team Leaders can focus on the big picture.  Responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain operational documents, such as checklists, procedures, & spreadsheets.
  • Develop special projects from concept to completion. This includes research, meeting coordination and innovative thinking, and requires the ability to bring clarity out of ambiguity.
  • Assist with reception duties as necessary.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing/grammatical skills and be able to communicate well and work closely with a variety of personalities.  Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience in an office environment
  • High school degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong attention to detail while multitasking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required. Experience in Microsoft Publisher a plus. Ability to master new software.

Carpenter

The Carpenter provides each home with its distinctive “Garman Detail” through a wide range of construction/carpentry tasks including trimming, framing, and hardwood installation. Requirements include:

  • At least 2 years of jobsite experience in new home construction or renovations
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Coordinate new home permitting process
  • Must have a PA Driver’s license

Salesperson / Project Manager

This position assumes the responsibility of meeting with prospective customers, reviewing wants and needs with them and working closely with the design & estimating teams to create a product that meets the customer’s needs and hits a targeted budget.  It includes selling the job and creating contracts and all other necessary sale documents.

This position also assumes responsibility for ensuring quality of production while remaining on or ahead of schedule, negotiating and approving contracts for subcontractors and suppliers at or under budget, being the “point person” for customers during the construction process, and attending to the details of paperwork and job folders to ensure an accurate and timely completion.

Objective

To take each project from concept to completion in a timely manner, within budget and company policies and guidelines
